Mr. Wilfried Lemke awarded the “Berlin Peace Clock” by the Berlin committee for UNESCO

On November 9, 2011, the Berlin Committee for UNESCO honoured Wilfried Lemke for his commitment to the United Nations and his stunning efforts to promote international understanding and integration through sport. Mr. Lemke, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, received the “Berlin Peace Clock” at a ceremony attended by more than 200 prominent leaders from the world of sport, the private sector, civil society and politics, including Germany’s State Minister for Culture and the Media, Mr. Bernd Neumann. Special Adviser Wilfried Lemke succeeds to famous leading figures, such as Mikhaïl Gorbatchev, Ronald Reagan and Helmut Kohl.
